A1 Dance Academy was established in Undy in February 1995 by Miss Lavender, who continues to work closely with the school and was called The Lavender School of Dancing. The Forest of Dean branch was established in September 1995, originally in Bream, followed by the Monmouth branch. Miss Lavender relinquished her role as Principal in 2005 when the school changed its name to A1 Dance Academy. It continues to uphold the same high standards & dedication to teaching dance.
A1 Dance Academy provides dance classes in a variety of styles including ballet, tap, modern & jazz, six days a week in locations across Monmouth and Undy in Monmouthshire & Parkend in the Forest of Dean, so there should be a class to meet everyone’s needs whatever their age or ability. Classes are available from the age of 3 years and can be taken for fun or in order to study for graded exams, which are are awarded by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) & Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).
Our small team of friendly teachers are enthusiastic & highly experienced in teaching each of genres of dance offered. They all have Enhanced DBS checks, are qualified in First Aid and Safeguarding, and are Fully Insured.
Following the Covid-19 Pandemic, all teachers will be trained where necessary in procedures to comply with specific government regulations that may be in place.
